Test HDV video made hand held with Canon HV20 and produced with iMovie 08. Rendered resolution was 1280x720 at 30p. Yeah... sorry for the typo in the title in the video... Canan ;-)

Enjoy!

the depth here is great! it feels like a window to a whole world behind my screen...i dare not imagine how great it must look in the original version

well worth the download, hosted version doesn't do the pool sequence justice.

Vimeo records in 24p anyway, so your 30p is not what we see here.

Eugenia, not sure I follow you...

You said that you rendered your project at 30p. However Vimeo re-encodes in 24p.

Yeah... hence the little stuttering in Vimeo encode ;-( Too bad it does not stick with the source frame rate. When most HDV source are 60i with a 720p30 output Vimeo should consider keeping the 30fps rate...

HI, IM THINKING OF BUYING THE HV20, AFTER I SAW THIS CLIP youtube.com/watch?v=ACVZp-UMD0Y
NOW THAT I SEE YOURS TOO, I SEE THAT THE CAMERA IS GREAT BUT WHY IS SO DIFERENT, THE LINK HAS LIKE A CINEMATIC LOOK,. HOW DOES IT DO IT, AND YOUR LOOKS SO NATURAL AND ALIVE,. THANKS IN ADVANCE IF YOU CAN GUIDE ME OR MAKE A COMMENT.
    GREAT VIDEO

Well, The rain clip is really good. I can't tell for sure but it might have been done using a 35mm adaptor mounted on the HV20. The HV20 is quite popular with Indie film maker because it can provide a breath taking film look at a very low cost when coupled with a good 35mm DOF adaptor.

As far as my clip is concerned I captured it with a stock HV20 in 1080p24 (24 frames per seconds). This help give a film look but won't give you the same effect as an HV20 coupled to a 35mm adaptor.

I suggest you register to hv20.com to get more information from other hv20 owners.
