Time lapse of our Sunday grocery shopping... with mirrored effects for that "Oh so mesmerizing" kaleidoscope effect.

For extra fun--added "Flora/Fauna" by Anamanaguchi from the album Power Supply.

The result: That's for you to decide!

I've tried several attempts for better resolution but the conversion to flash video seems to kill it. The downloadable movie is so much better with way more detail. Anybody got any ideas on how to help the conversion, let me know.

Very cool , Colorful, perfect tune and some excellent patterns for that rug I've been wanting !

Thanks! I was just going to run the straight timelapse but when I saw the patterning that occurred...this seemed so much better with the mirroring. That would make some cool rugs!

I'd love to see a mosaic of some of the choice stills.
You know as well, the was a mouth inference and a football helmet guard inference as well,, along w/ that rug thang.

Sweet! I wish my grocery outings were always this hallucinatory. The music is the cherry on top of this Sunday shopping experience.
  • eric cwiertny 7 months ago
The original looked so ordinary, and there's just something cool to me about the whole patterning and kaleidoscope thing. Especially with all that color, shape and movement.

  • ooooh! aaaah! the cage of the shopping cart provides for an excellent point of reference.

you motivate me to produce (art) wherever i am. woot to that.

It was fun cause I've never filmed just an ordinary thing like shopping. And after I did, realized it could be more interesting with some effects and some fun music. I never thought shopping for groceries could look fun.

    I like it!

Since the source video is reflected four ways, I bet you could set it up as an HD project and get a higher resolution export... would probably require starting over though.

I keep thinking this effect is played out, but then I see something like this and I just fall in love all over again.

Thanks...this is what happens when you get really bored...filming grocery shopping and trying to make something out of it.
