A new dam was built up a few months ago, complete with this fancy new overflow. There were several big old cottonwoods growing on the old dam - it hadn't held water for quite a few years. When the new dam was completed, the waterlevel was over a foot below the overflow. We've had several inches of rain in the last few weeks - enough to fill the pond to overflowing. I was kind of excited to see it. The water shoots underneath the dam and comes out on the other side.
