Shot on P2 at 720p 23.98 though I cut everything on the Avid at 1080p. The Avid handles the upres beautifully. Plus I then have full control over output to tape (D5) at 1080p, whereas the 720p format still leaves me in limbo.

oh nice. I never would have guessed an upres. so why D5? is it being broadcast in HD? and was this the hpx500? or 35mm adaptor for hvx? sorry for the questions, it just looks really great!

They used a 35mm adaptor on the HVX. We archive everything on D5 whether it ships in HD or not. Unfortunately VH1 is a bit behind the times with their broadcast technology and they still ask for digis and beta sp's.

pinski is a reference to Blake Sennett's (lead guitar and leading man in this video) character from Nickelodeon's Salute Your Shorts. Him and Jenny Lewis were child actors, which gets brought up every time the band is mentioned...
