Yes the romancing couples have been sampled from a clip I found on the web, but I really don't recall where I got it from? Thanks for the info I'll do some "Bob Arnold" searching and try to track it...
Well hello Bob...if that really is you, I'll take your word for it...
Firstly I want to make it clear that I'm not selling this piece...
I'm also an artist and I also sample stuff Just like you've done with all the romancing couples, so there's a bit of grey area here... we all know that this cover artwork you sampled was created by other artist... did you pay them?
I'd happily credit you for the "Morphology of Desire" footage and link to your distributor... But if you're really uptight about it I'll think of editing it out...no skin of my back as I've load's of other stuff I can use...
anyway's Respect, as it's a lovely little piece.
In the context of found footage filmmaking that I am familar with, there is a clear distinction between mining the world of pre-existing popular culture vs. stealing the work of other non-commerical experimental artists who use this material. You rightly point out that I "appropriated" the cover images, but I did so at my risk. Furthermore, very few of the cover images are copyrighted, unlike the novel text, and in fact the original version of this project was screened at Harlequin's 20th Anniversary in Scandanavia celebration. So you should feel free to use any original romance novel cover images that you collect, but please do not use my work (the collecting, the sequencing, the morphing, etc.) without my permission and without acknowledgement. I have tried to insure that this work is not out there on the net apart from a clear indication of its propriatary nature (such as on some video festival sites), so I don't buy the idea that you stumbled into this somewhere on the net as a freebie. If you did, I'd like to know where.
I appreciate that you like the piece, but in the spirit of respect for each other's work that you mention in your last comment, If you wish to use my work in yours, please contact Montevideo (www.montevideo.nl) to arrange appropriate licensing. You'll get a higher quality image to work with. Otherwise, please immediately remove it from your work, including the 2 Live @ the Loft mixes and any others, which are available for download by others. Thank you.

Also before accusing me of Lying about where I found the disputed sample, I suggest you scan the web to track it down.
Get real! Everything is ripped and uploaded now days...I honestly thought It was some obscure public domain footage, would gladly tell you where I found it if I could remember myself... but you don't have to take my word for it...
Ps: If I decide to use it in a commercial environment some day, I'll give Montevideo a shout... now that I know who made it.
thanks
.
I've also put Credits and links to - montevideo.nl - on the other mix for now.
...........
Apologies if I offended you in any way, it was not my intension.
best wishes
Morris

Hi tomusan,
