Wow, these colours are fantastic! BTW, I noticed you put a 'copyright' on your movies. Is there a reason for this?

It's a good idea to do so, especially in US.

Looks lovely. What were your settings in Vegas?
  • Eugenia Loli-Queru plus 2 years ago
The 1080i HDV template with "interpolate" as the de-interlace method, then I edit, and then I export as 720p h.264 in progressive mode.

WOW! That's nice! You have great color saturation, great composition, and it's sharp as a scalpel! However, I'm experiencing buffering. M'thinks this is a Vimeo Bandwidth problem -- nothing you have control over.

I like the music too. I'm a HUGE fan of international music. Can you tell me what the track is, who the artist is, and where to get it? iTunes? I LOVE iTunes!

GREAT STUFF! I especially like the color saturation. It's PERFECT!

    thanks. :)

Regarding the music, the info and URL is listed in the credits at the end of the video. It's a freely downloadable album.

Regarding the buffering, you need to have a fast connection to view HD. An internet connection that can manage 200 kb/sec.

Yeah. I saw the music link at the end after finishing my comment (I got a little excited). I will hunt that down. Also, I viewed it a second time, and the buffering was gone, probably due to a local .tmp file on my puter.

Is an awesome video! I love it. I gotta figure out more about Vimeo so I can add it to my favorites. That is REALLY pretty!

How did you get such good color? What settings is your camera using?
  • Eugenia Loli-Queru plus 2 years ago
I was using the camera in "P" mode (not automatic) in order to get access to manual exposure settings, and with manual focus in some instances. I never use the in-camera effects and color templates that are meant for newbies.

The reason the colors look so good is because of this: ;-)

    Beautiful colors!
I am usually using 'Brightness and Contrast' filter in Vegas and a bit of Color Correction, but not Magic Bullet (too expensive and no Vegas support I think).

I had a look at the article you are referring to, but it doesn't mention how much you dial the settings ;-)
    Would be interesting to know.

And I usually shoot in Cinemode (HV20), why do you use P instead?

    Thanks
  • Eugenia Loli-Queru plus 2 years ago
Magic Bullet Editors 2.0 has support for Vegas. I used many different Magic Bullet templates on that clip that it's not possible to describe them all. Just check my test youtube videos and search my blog for color-grading to see exact examples on how i did things.

As for Cinemode, there is no point shooting in 24 fps for documentary-style and interviews. 24p/Cinemode is for those who want to do movie-like shorts and music video clips, in a pro manner. Besides, if you don't own cineform, it's very cpu and time intensive removing pulldown with any other method, that it doesn't really worth the time IMO. At least not for more than 15 minutes of footage.

    I have PAL HV20 - 25p and no pull-down.

    I will check your blog.

    Thanks

    more confusion
    lol
  • Eugenia Loli-Queru plus 2 years ago
As I said, please email me or IM me to explain this to you (NOT all frames of PF24 are progressive). No reason to discuss this here, as it's not really on topic. Also, you keep using the "add new comment" box to reply, and not the "reply to this comment" link. By doing so, I don't get email notifications that you replied on MY comment, but that you started a new sub-thread. :)
