i remember learning about how he got these pictures buy setting up a bunch of cameras set with trip wires to go off when the guy ran thru them...
have you ever seen all of this guys stuff?
we had a book of like all of it. the stuff he would record seems like the simplest stuff, but its all so cool.
Eadweard Muybridge: the original vimeo guy

I must admit I didn't know anything about Muybridge before making this, but he's one of those people who's work you've seen in one way or another all your life.

    I love muybridge

    How did you animate this?
  • AdamPellinDeeve 2 years ago
I made one long image of the 12 original photos and moved it across the screen. The first couple of images were on the end of the 12 so that on the last frame of the move, it appeared to be back at the start. You can see this move in the first 5 seconds. This move could then be looped. Each loop increased in speed: 2 sec 10 frames, then 2 sec 9 frames, then 2 sec 8 frames and so on, until it reaches 12 frames per loop at about 45 seconds, where the figure is fully animated.

I had the idea after discussing with my wife why sometimes on television, car wheels appear to be spinning backwards.

That was great. I especially liked the sputtering out to darkness at the end: "tic ... tic ... tic."

I always pronounce his name edweird maybridge.
Now I know why. That was a freaky bit of glitchcore, but without the glitches.

perfect! i've used some muybridge animations for live visuals but just putting the pictures one after each other in the whole screen, and sequence by sequence (the horse, man running, etc..) i loved this other technique
    congratulations!
