I was laid off from my job in August. To make ends meet, I took a 3-month temp assignment at an investment bank. I had to interview twice with 8 people and take a battery of computer proficiency tests to land this assignment.
Turns out that they had me do absolutely NOTHING but answer phones, distribute mail and pack up boxes for an office move. Because of this, I've been unable to interview for a permanent job, and since this firm blocks all outside internet access, I've not even been able to search online for a new job. Can anyone out there relate??

i work from home most of the time, but i'm employed by a gigantic corporate bank. they got rid of all of our executive assistants for some reason or another. and the last one that i liked just left us because she hated working in our office. she was awesome, too.
i hope oyu find something soon!
i have a feeling i'll get laid off soon, too. but then again..i'm a worry wart.
