Nice. You might wanna consider slowing down that shutter speed for a nice blur effect of the crowd, and also higher quality.

    And who won what?
  • The Daily Tar Heel plus 7 months ago
Thanks for watching. We used a 1 sec shutter speed which introduced a fair amount of blur. Unfortunately, the shortest interval that our software allowed for shooting was an image every five seconds. That made things a little "stuttery," but it gave us a good total length for the video. We tried to balance the ability to see individuals with smooth motion.

And it was the Tar Heels over the Spartans for the 2009 NCAA Men's Basketball Championship.

Not nearly as cool as Maryland Terrapin riots. Just sayin'.

    Awesome time lapse, though.

Awesome! As a DTH news editor from way way back, it's so cool to see the new technology. I shared this with dozens of alumni. Jessica

Upper left @ 00:31. Is that a UFO?!
  • The Daily Tar Heel plus 7 months ago
Hey Boodro, thanks for watching. There were various news helicopters flying over the chaos. The light you're seeing is one of those copters. They look awesome in timelapse.

    Hey alfa,
    Thanks for watching.

We were too. Unfortunately, we couldn't get an extension cord up to where we were on the roof, and the cold night zapped the batteries.

This is awesome. I'd just like to know how you made this. What program you used, some information on the program and other things I might need to know to put together my own timelapse.

    Thanks, great work!
