Shaykh Faraz discusses Al-Asmaa ul Husna– the ninety-nine beautiful names of Allah subhana wa ta’ala. Each and everyone of Allah subhana wa ta’ala’s names is perfect and unique to Allah subhana wa ta’ala in its totality and divinity. But each of Allah’s divine names in its own right presents to us, humans, a lesson to be implemented within our worldly confines. Our personal characteristics should reflect those of Allah subhana wa ta’ala’s in our worldly limits. As the oft-repeated hadith says “The merciful are shown mercy by the All-Merciful (Ar-Rahmaan). Have mercy to those on earth, and the Lord of the Heavens will have mercy upon you.” [Tirmdhi] The Prophet (may peace and blessings be upon him), in this hadith, relates our mercy (as limited as we all acknowledge it to be) to that of Allah subhana wa ta’ala’s name encompassing mercy, Ar-Rahmaan. If we strive to please Allah subhana wa ta’ala through His names, we will reach a high station in character insha’Allah. Shaykh Faraz will present us with the knowledge that we need to fully comprehend the Ninety-Names of Allah subhana wa ta’ala and appreciating them in our lives.
