we shot the band against a white cyc and brought it into after effects. then we exported it as a still image sequence and printed out every single frame onto paper (over 2500 separate images). we cut out every image by hand and then stop motion animated them along with the sets that we built. it's all done using traditional animation techniques--no digital trickery!
