How do you feel using it on you HV20 without rails? Do you need to hold the adapter all the time, or would you feel free to mount it on tripod or steadicam?

There's no way i can put the camera in a tripod with the adapter and lens becuse the last two weight a lot more than the camera.
When i hold everything, i hold it BY the adapter, the camera stays in the air. So i say you will certainly need a rood support to put the whole thing in a tripod.

Do you agree with most of the Nguen's boast of no vignetting, half stop light loss, edge to edge sharpness?

Well a half stop light loss, for me is a lot, because I have a f/3.5 zoom lens, and whit that lens I can not shoot indoor without a lot of light more that 1K, and that enough light to bother any that you tray to shoot and is hot, but perhaps that’s the price you have to pay for have the DOF, and the zoom lens make the barrel effect that produce the shallow that you see at the sides especially the left side. I have to confess that I have to shot at day light to know how it work outdoors, but I think that there’s not going to be a lot of different, that’s way I going to buy a f/1.8 almost 50% lees light loose that the one I have right now but I have to pay US$100 and wouldn’t be able to zoom, I think that way I will be able to shoot at night, because whit that lens in a SLR photo camera you can take pictures without a flash.

u reccommend that lens? i prefer zoom lens to primes. i was going to get a tamron 17-35

the tamron 28-80 that i have can only be used by 50mm to 80mm because it vibrate to much when you louder than 50mm. Whit fast primes you don't need too much light to take good pictures at night, but you have to move a lot whit primes to go closer or far away. And telephoto lenses surely you have vignett.

I think the problem with that is you have to shoot at no faster then 1/125. Otherwise you will be able to see the grain of the vibrating GG. By extending your zoom you need lower shutterspeed thus enhancing the image in light intensive setups (like outdoor shots in sunlight). So you better use the ND filter and keep that shutter below 1/125 ;)
