Well there are people that are using the mini without a rood support, I’m not one of them, it is a lot lot better whit the rood support because you can balance the hole ring better in a tripod and I planning to make a DIY shoulder support system using handles and a shoulder mount that I will attach to the rood support.

Just purchased a static adapter for my canon hg10. I did'nt get it yet. Before i spend over a grand on the mini can someone tell me if they say this vibrating adapter is better?

Well the problem whit static adapters and HD is that the ground glass that the adapter use have texture that you will may see that's grain in your video, and even if don't have any grain at all, if dust enter in the adapter you maybe don't see it in the little monitor of the camera, but you will notice when you edit the video and it will be to late, the vibrating ground glass is the solution to this, it will get rid off all the grain and the dust in your frottage.

In a ideal word i personally prefer that everything was static, because the vibrating GG has damage some of my footage in this video, but this happen because I use a zoom lens and went you zoom out wide open the Tamron lens, let say at 28 mm you will notice a lot of vibration in the video, I discovery that this happen because the ML(magnification lens) inside the Tamron 28-80 mm get to close to the Lentus35 Mini and because the magnification lens is in geared rail that isn't steady that's way he get insane and act like a crazy cow, the solution is to go from 50MM and over. This is not a big deal because it was my second test whit the adapter, and I use this adapter for the first time in my life, its all matter of practices more and mastering my self in the art of using this type of devices.

I have to add that these images are exactly as they come out of the camera, I didn’t chance anything in post.

yes of course, but i think that the extreme will be better if you planing to upgrade to a better and bigger camera in the future.

Hola Tommy muchas gracias por tu tiempo y dedicacion, espero puedas contestarme mis dudas, se ve que la hv20 es una maravilla y con el adaptador queda genial jugar por la profundidad de campo que le da al enfoque.
Pero ese adaptador lentus 35 le da alguna calidad o textura a la imagen?, veo por alli algo de granos en la textura en el segundo "52 en el fondo de nubes
seria ideal ver la diferencia de tomas con el adaptador y sin el adaptador teniendo como fondo la misma panorama , para poder diferenciar en la camara la calidad o las prestaciones del accesorio con y sin ella, que opinas de la Brevis? que diferencias puedes encontrar en ella? Que lentes nos recomendarias usar para tener una mejor panorama, que lentes gran angulares le harian mejor que tenga un precio accesible?

en el segundo 52 se me olvidó encender el adaptador y por ende lo que ves es el cristal opaco donde se proyecta la imágen, de haber estado encendido hubiese estado vibrando y por ende no se vería ninguna textura.
No he tenido oportunidad de usar el Brevis por lo que no te puedo decir nada sobre él lo que si te puedo decir es que el Letus 35 ya viene con la imágen flipiada y es un sólo aparato, mientras que para usar el Brevis necetarias alguna forma de ver la imagen al revez o bien comprar un modulo adicional que voltee la imagén a como debe ser, los lentes que recomiendo son aquellos que son rápidos es decir F 1.8 o menor (1.4, 1.2) en especial el de 50mm que es el que más se parece a como vemos las cosas en la realidad y tambien recomiendo usar lentes primos, primarios, es decir que no tengan aumento o zoom, es decir no a los telfoto, porque causan viñetas en los bordes que es un efecto de barril que ocurre en los bordes de la imágen.
El mejor lente y más accesible sin duda debe ser el Nikon 50mm f/1.8

recomiendo practicar mucho antes de usarlo por primera vez para una producción, puesto que muchas cosas pueden influir el resultado final, desde la forma como aprietan o fijan la cámara en los rieles hasta como centrar la camara el adaptador y el lente en el tripode, algo que note es que con los lentes Zoom, al usarlo en menos de 50mm le entra una vibración extrema a la imágen y descubrí que esto sucede porque los lentes dentro del lente zoom se hacercan mucho al vibrador del adaptador y esto produce que el lente vibre ya que está sobre unos rieles dentro del zoom.

Es un verdadero problema manejar la imágen con en el adaptador por las noches ya que no se puede bloquear el Gain, esto puede ser un verdadero problema y podría hacer que el daptador sea inusable al menos con la HV20 en las noches, esto se soluciona iluminado muy bien la escena y usando un lente rápido tipo mi 50mm f/1.4.

Ya con el adaptador, el lente, la cámara y los rieles el conjunto se comienza a convertir en un aparato pesado y les resultará imposible manejarlo con un tripode barato, por lo que tendran que comprar un tripode de calidad y deben olvidarse casi por completo del cámara en mano.

the tamron 28-80 that i have can only be used by 50mm to 80mm because it vibrate to much when you louder than 50mm. Whit fast primes you don't need too much light to take good pictures at night, but you have to move a lot whit primes to go closer or far away. And telephoto lenses surely you have vignett.

Tommy - you say that using a telephoto lens will cause vignetting..? so no use of say 300mm nikon on the Letus.?

no telephoto, zoom lens, like 28mm to 80mm. if your lens is only 300mm is fine.
