The Tandem Club was formed in the UK in 1971 primarily to provide otherwise unobtainable spare parts and technical advice on how to maintain the older machines. Since then the Club has developed along with the increased interest in tandems, and currently the Club has a world wide membership of over 5,000 members. As well as Rallies in the UK the Tandem Club organises an International Rally every year, usually in Europe and generally within reasonable cycling distance of the Channel Ports. It attracts cyclists from several countries and caters for all abilities. We were there in 1999 and this is just part of what we saw.
