    I made the fire on paper by sponging on yellow and red paint in that shape. Then I photographed it, brought it into After Effects, and Multiplied the layer settings several times. If you have 2 to 3 of the same layer and change the angle of each one you get the same effect. I changed the frequency that each layer appears over time too.
