HD Movie Lions
For BBC documentaries and many Hollywood productions these lions were used as an actor or stand in. Certain moves and Close ups seen in many Serengeti/ Masai- Mara documentaries. Reasonable tame lions so quite save for us to enter the cage and did some close/ups also. Fantastic experience of a life time. First time in 2005. I could use the new Sony FX1 in HDV mode. 1440x1080i. Soon we go back for another production at this great *** Protea Hotel near Pretoria. Fortunately I had a small pocket tripod with me. Ideal for low angle shots. Quick set up and pull back. Now specially edited in Vegas8 for Vimeo. After several tests finally got the best settings for our Pal footage into progressive MPEG4.

And to think that so many people go to Africa to hunt and kill animals like that. Humans....
Beautiful animals, beautiful images!
Whats that?

Peace & Love
"The Gods must be Crazy" one of my favourite movies from the 80's.
I enjoyed "The Gods must be Crazy" back in the day when too.
If you are based in SA it would be great to see footage of some of the good sides of the country.
Note to self: Don't interrupt mating lion.
Beautiful creatures...very majestic. Love the Biblical names you gave the 3 cubs! I also like the background music...it reminds me of a "Really Nice Day," oh wait, you got that from Sony Cinescore! ;) Good video!
I feel like just sifting through your videos, I can experience a world I've never seen before.
Thanks for all your hard work!
And thanks for consistently being kind enough to share it with us.
That's a really good idea - to interview other Vimians. I'll have to think about that!
Have you interviewed other Vimians before?
I'm involved with another community called Couchsurfing.com too. Do you know it?
Maybe we can all couchsurf around the world and interview each other along the way?? :P
Guess I need to make a few more lion videos before I can do it that way. :P
