A goat we bought home one day from the barn. His name is Taco. He actually let us walk him with a dog leash :) A little scared of the cat and dogs. Funny how he looked out the window like a dog or cat as well. Just a random song i picked... nothing to do with the video :)

Shot with Sony HDR-HC3 high definition
Edited with Adobe Premiere Pro CS3.

Here is the sequel: vimeo.com/624998

A beautiful goat. Probably it can be litter-trained, as goats are pretty intelligent animals.

My uncle is a goat herder in Greece, he had a name for a young goat, and every time he would call his name from the other side of the field, she would reply: meeeeeeh... He had told me: "how could I butcher this goat and eat it? I can't!".

What kind of MP4 export was this one btw? I downloaded the file to watch on my PS3 and the PS3 wouldn't play it.
  • Mark Jensen 2 years ago
strange... i exported using adobe premiere pro cs3 on windows and made it "progressive" when exporting. i know some users had problems playing progressive mp4's on ps3. let me try another format and send you the ftp information and you can try again.
  • Eugenia Loli-Queru plus 2 years ago
No, that's not it. PS3 prefers progressive, that's how it should be exported. But something else is the culprit...It was exported as h.264 and AAC, right?
  • Mark Jensen 2 years ago
Here's all the details. This was done in Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 on windows. Only thing i can see is maybe i should set the key frame distance? it's set to off by default in premiere for H.264.

    Video
    --------
    Video Codec: MainConcept H.264 Video
    TV Standard: NTSC
    Resolution: 1280x720
    frame rate: 29.97
    field order: none (progressive)
    pixel aspect ratio: square pixels
    profile: main
    level: 4.0
bitrate: VBR 2 pass target 5mbps max 8mbps
    Set Key Frame Distance (off)

    Multiplexer
    -------------
    Multiplexing: MP4
Stream compatibility: Standard (other choices are Ipod and PSP)

    Audio
    ---------
    Format: AAC
    Channels: Stereo
    Frequency: 48KHz
    Quality: High
    Bitrate (kbps): 192

This sounds right, you exported correctly. I guess it's just an incompatibility.
  • Mark Jensen 2 years ago
very strange though. i'll look around to see if anyone else has this problem with adobe premiere H.264 exports on the PS3. let me know if i can do any tests to see if we can fix this. those are all the options i basically have for the H.264 template. Maybe it's the MainConcept video codec that doesn't work well with ps3?

unless there is more than one goat named Taco, I know the person that named your goat. Do you know if the ranch got Taco from Heffer international?
  • Mark Jensen 2 years ago
it was some place in cartersville GA, some farm equipment place that was selling goats as well :)

Sweet video! Are goats different than having a dog as a pet?
  • Mark Jensen 2 years ago
thx! they "meeehhhhh" instead of barking :) and harder to walk them i'm sure. he's actually not living with us as a pet, but just brought him home one day from the barn for fun.

I was thinking that this guy clearly must live out in the country, and he just brought his goat inside to be funny. Then I saw the shot of your driveway and realized that you apparently live in a suburb. That's hilarious.

Are you going to eat him?
  • Mark Jensen 2 years ago
    ummm no :) he's a pet.
