lets continue... we also have the compass which mr. obama credits to islam. while islamic scientist may have worked with the compass and navigation, they certainly did not invent it. The compass is usually credited to the Chinese several centuries before the first mention in the islamic world. Recent research has uncovered the Olmec civilization might have developed the technology a millenium prior.
i could continue, but the point has been made. while this speech is being touted as a speech as noteworthy and world changing as MLK's "I Have a Dream", i urge you to notice the applause. when do they occur and where does this fall with issues addressed by obama? i believe that this speech is another body blow to a already shaky foreign policy that obama has with the world.
now, i have no ill feelings nor hatred of islam or mr. obama. i am simply pointing out another side of the story.
the speech was beautifully read by mister Hussein Obama off of a teleprompter.
It will be wonderful when America is once again respected as a world leader. I think this speech took a big step towards that day. This speech sends a strong message to the world that the failed foreign policy of the last 8 years is over. THANK YOU, Mr. President.
Christopher, face it, Iraq is a huge failure. The world knows American foreign policy has caused the Muslim world great suffering, and killed hundreds of thousands on innocent men, women, and children.
If you want the US troops out, then you should agree that the Muslim world needs a better opinion of the US. OUr military needs regional nations to step up to the plate so it's not all the US's responsibility. Sorry, those 1000 troops from the UK don't cut it. I really don't see how people like you can be so short-sighted and not understand that we live in a global community, and uni-lateral ism has failed. And I'll tell you when you will get the AMerica is great speech... when he's in AMerica! As if he would go to the Muslim world, where even the "green zone" is getting mortared, and say AMerica is great. That's a good one. lol.
