As for 2:52, I saw that as a severe case of speaker (headphone's transducer) feedback. The boy created such an intense feedback loop, he blew his own system.
what camera did you use?
i don't suppose you could share which piece of equipment enabled the mini-crane shots?

Aphex Twin, one of the musical genius of our time suffers from Synesthesia. You can actually perceive it in its music. This video just adds another layer to understand it better.
