I don't think the mood of the video fits the mood of the song but I guess I'm wrong because both Drake and Kanye signed off on this ... It was a bit comedic and I thought the song was a bit more personal than that.
Wow really? I didn't really think T&A was outside the box, but at least the ridiculousness of it was kinda touched on. It doesn't go with the song at all really, Buuuuttt...I'm you're average Joe I plead the "fizzif" on the inherent value I see in this vid.
Best quote: "Take that D! Take that D like the champions you are..."
I wasn't really feelin the video until the part where he girl goes in to get her uniform from then on I just kept on laughing. Maybe its just me but the Whole third verse was hilarious. and I liked the video over all not my favorite but better than a lot of other stuff. shot better than what I've done.
Am I the only one who maybe figured out the concept of the video...
He's basically saying that all the girls he's dealt with consider themselves to be the best he ever had, but they're all apart of his team and he's telling them that to boost their egos...
ppl who dont like this video can go kick rocks this is the most fun rnb video ive seen in ages. FUN! not cliche not "pseudo intellectual" none of that shit
this is a terrible video...so low-budget looking...
you wouldnt even allow this to be your video..
the only parts of the video that are good is the undercover sex jokes...
i am a big fan of you and your work...but this seems to be something u thought of while being drunk...
This is awful, man. A little less shallowness and a little more creativity is needed... Way to degrade women into objects of stupidity. Completely dishonest.
Major disappointment in the concept of the video. The song is absolutely amazing and the video does nothing for it, along with the fact that no one can really act that great. I just think that so much more could've been done with this song.
Reilly Smith is right, plus a great song having a bad video like this, kanye wasn't good on this, really not :S
Filming running snitches in slow mo, damn where's the creativity and the respect??
Lol the only positive thing on this is the 'u da fu**ing best' censored and switched to a nice sounding 'u the u the best, u the u the best' =P
I can't front. This guy Drake is wearing thin with me. He's got all the hype and he's ok as a rapper but his approach to women is turning me off big time! First he has little girls on stage with him at the BET Awards while he sings I wish I could F@ck every Girl in the world, and now this. I'm like werd, you wanna f@ck every EVERY "girl" as in little girl? WTF!
Now, here comes this video and it's straight up objectification of women. Do I like breast. Yeah just like any other man! But there's a lot more to women and to life than that. So basically in 2009 when we are moving forward at dayumed near light speed, they come with this? It's just incredibly whack to me. It's not what the kids need.
Sorry. But it is what it is. I didn't start it, the drew first blood. I'ma finish it!
i don't think kanye is cut out to make the transition from entertainer to artist and this video proves it yet again to me. following trends and then mass marketing them to the public can be done by anybody with a wad of cash.
Thanks to all you guys that talked about the objectification issue in this video, you restore my faith in humanity. There's a lot going on here with gender issues that's just being ignored and when you're making something that will presumably be seen by thousands of people, you've got to be aware of them.
Probably as problematic as any porno's plot would be, without the nudity of course.
As for when people talk about concept, as far as I'm concerned, there isn't really one to discuss.
I think this is a Joke, trust me, they will release the real deal cuz I could have done better and I shoot video myself. NEVER TRUST KANYE to direct your videos. Check out "Just Like Kingston" by Beenie Man and Versatile on my channel. I directed it, shot and edited it, stand up Toronto.!!!
I must say, the cinematography in this joint was pretty bad. I peeped this cause I thought the song was pretty good but I was let down by this video. Execution and concept was off target. Dang Ye, I thought you was going to come out w/ something better than this considering your blog has some interesting things on it.
I think this is gonna ruin the song for a LOT of ladies out there.. the one comment I keep hearing from women is this song makes them feel really "good" .. good to be a women, good about themselves, good about the "good" in men. This is gonna kill that good feeling.
I keep watching the video and just don't get it. It's original in the sense that I haven't seen a rap video like it. But is original a good enough excuse? Couldn't it have been original in a better way?
Is this Drake trying to say he's both a sweetheart and a dog? The best of both worlds? Something for the guys and the girls? Is Kayne trying to sabotage Drake's career?
I don't care how Drake rose to fame, I'm just proud he there! He makes really good music at the end of the day, we all gotta agree with that. TDOT stand up.. but this video is just .. well, I just, don't, get it.
Wow either everyone just missed the point of the song, or they're all just dumb. There's no female uplifting going on here. Just because he's saying "You the best" he's not being sweet or romantic. There is no deep or personal meaning in the song, come on don't be dumb.
The very beginning of the song he says, "..sometimes girls listen to a song and think its written about them....well this song is about, you..." He didn't mean to point out a specific girl and say this song is for you; he porposely says "You" rather than a girls name because he wants every girl to keep on thinking he's singing to them. Don't be naive, this isn't a deep, sweet song, he's saying " You the Fucking Best", try and tell that to your gf with a straight face and see how she likes it.
Oh and not to mention the whole song is riddled with lines like, "make your fucking bra strap pop", " I can make that pussy whistle". Real deep guys, real deep, meaningful lyrics.
No, this was meant to be a fun song; saying one thing to a girl but mean a totally different thing. Making a girl feel special, but saying the exact same thing to every other girl too. And it seems like a lot of you fell for it like the chickens he's singing to.
Read the Complex mag interview on the video concept and then you'll understand why the vid plays with people (particularly FEMALE fans) who look at the song literally, and catch the metaphors..
OMG. First time I heard this song on the radio I fell in love with it. I have a 4yr old daughter and even she loves the song. Can't wait 4 da album 2 come out. I have liked Drake 4 years but didn't know he was a hip hop artist. He was on Degrassi 4 years and I have been watching the show since the 80's. Great show too!!!!

I agree with everybody that says they coulda did somethin different.
It was funny but i expected different.

Keep tryin'
the song has special meaning and for it to be ruined like this. ewk
love song turned bad.

most of the people gotta really analyze this to get the point of it
