MaxMSP MIDI arpeggiator used with Native Instruments' Maschine
5 months ago
Proof of concept for a MIDI arpeggiator like the one in Ableton Live, but that can be used with any DAW, in this case Maschine. Didn't manage to record the sound with my screen grab application, but the visual should be obvious anyway. I'm using a MIDI keyboard, holding down chords, into MaxMSP for it to translate it into arpeggiations.
One could also use only the Maschine, if one sets up a control template where all the MIDI notes are Toggles instead of Gates (letting you "hold down" the note pads whilst not in MIDI mode any more). This way one can switch from MIDI mode to Maschine mode with the shift+control mode and set up arpeggiation "patterns" in MIDI mode which you then record in Maschine mode. Makes sense?
