Here is a short motion graphic I did for a church.

The church is called Mosaic, and the series is titled "Unleashed".

I did it all in After Effects CS3 (and Photoshop/Illustrator) on an iMac 2.4GHz running Leopard.

I green screened the dancers (some friends) and used the Keylight plugin within AE for the chroma-key.

All of the elements I made or built myself. I made the butterfiles using Trapcode's Particular.

The music isn't mine... its by Muse. Its called "Supermassive Black Hole" and its a great song.

Enjoy!

That's really nice, I love the way the audio is delayed to sync with the movement at the start, maybe if it came in a fraction sooner with the arm movement it would be even better. Well done!

  • Nice job, you using video copilot stuff by chance? That drip effect at the end looks a little like it. If not, you should check out the site. Videocopilot.net

Great pacing and style - as usual. You kind of outdid yourself on this one, Chris! Good luck keeping up with your bad self! - HA!

very nice, how long did it take you to complete this project?
  • Chris Crutchfield 2 months ago
Not too long. I did all within a day. I cant remember exactly, but I think i started around 6 pm and finished about 7 am with an hour or so break in the middle. I tend to get some good stuff done if I work thru the night.

it probably took me longer to set up and light the green screen than anything else.

that's a long work. how long did it take you to learn how to edit with adobe after effects?
  • Chris Crutchfield 2 months ago
hmmm.... after effects has been a long time coming. I used it while in college to a small extent, learning the basics of it there. But in the last 2 years since I've been off working for myself, I learned a whole lot more about it.

    its a really powerful app.
