Manipulated video and audio

This piece is created from sampled and manipulated video and audio from the film "The Graduate" and is part of a larger series of video and performance works created through a similar process of "media ecology".

In the middle of the original film, a yellow flower appears in the foreground, huge and out of focus.

The entire film has been cropped and blurred so that every frame is rendered amorphous and, upon reaching the scene with the flower, the entire screen glows yellow. The sound has also been manipulated using a custom Max/MSP program to become ethereal, droning and song-like.

The film plays in it's entirety with no edits.

Dispatx.com has commissioned a series of these pieces, which will be developed on their site during 2007/08.
