1. The LandscapeHD 'Producer' Project
(Video above is low bit rate 720p)

Hello all

I am the Creative Director for LandscapeHD a TV channel with a difference that has been broadcasting in Europe for more than 20 years. We have recently developed a new creative project that aims to act as an outlet for talented film makers to get there work onto our HD television channel and into viewers homes through cable, satellite and terrestrial television systems.

We are a music television channel that broadcast world, instrumental and classical music videos. These are not music videos in the traditional sense (featuring the musician) but are more like short films combining HD imagery of the world we live in set to music taken from our extensive rights cleared library of classical and contemporary instrumental music.

What we are looking for are talented film-makers with a desire to get there work onto television. When your film/music video is broadcast you will earn royalties for the hard work you have put in and an on-screen credit to your website.

You will need an camera capable of shooting in HD (either progressive or interlaced) and edit equipment that can export uncompressed.

Please note: we are not YouTube we are a commercial television channel and therefore have strict broadcast standards in place so please only email once you have visited our website landscapehd.com and have read the Production pages and in particular The Producer Page.

If you think your work is suitable please email me a link to ben@landscapehd.com

what a bout still slide shows, I shoot very high res! and can make very good quality films of stills?

  • LandscapeHD 2 years ago
If you are talking about DSLR timelapse then we might be able to work together but unfortunately we are unable to broadcast still slideshow type films.

There is a podcast at landscapehd.libsyn.com/ This should give you a better understanding of the broader range of clips that we have been broadcasting since 1988. :)

Does it HAVE to be 1080p or does 720p work fine? Of course, I could edit it and export it/render it out to 1080p without much of a clarity loss, if that works?

    Please reply!

    720p is fine
  •
  • tomapete34 2 years ago
yea cuz 1080p technically is 1080 60p as opposed to 1080i which is 1080 60i. I dont know if there any 1080p cameras exist in consumer/prosumer realm (pany HVX200 doesnt count - its 1080p is bull). The closest one i believe would be Red One for about 40K with lens and all and 2 year waiting list.

Wow. This is fantastic. I would love to participate - off to landscapehd.com to read up.

Not sure if my HDC-SD1 is a good enough camera, but it does shoot 1920x1080.

Does it have to be 1080P? I shoot with an HDR-FX1 in 1080i. As Tomapete34 said, there are not really any affordable 1080P cameras out there, for the type of user that posts here.

    Nice time lapse actions...Question:
How do you get such smooth pans using time lapse???
    Very impressive work...
  •
  • Steven Dempsey 2 years ago
I'm guessing the actual frame is way bigger than what is visible and the panning is done in post.

This is fantastic, but why did you choose to not make the video available for download? I think the flash compression really kills it.

This is exactly what I'm trying to do with my HC9e and Sony Vegas pro 8.
Question is : which music to choose?
I prefer naturally classicals, like Beethoven, Bach, Schumann.
Is there any limitations about music choice??
