Take a detour from the standard cycle of things. Instead of following nature's progression of landmass creation and seed distribution, interject human disruption and manufacturing. The result is an environmental change at the hands of paper production, the by-product of pulp and fiber harvest.

Both static and motion photography were used and all elements were shot on location in Oregon and Hawaii. Medium format, 35mm, and 24p capture devices were employed for the creation of this project.

  • wow. that was amazing! really great stuff. truly inspiring... i saw that you described how this was shot in response to a previoius question. but how did you do the post if you dont mind me asking.. (the editing) is that after effects?
  • impactist 2 months ago
You're too kind, thank you. The post process involved a variety of things, and since this is more or less one continuous animation (in-camera and not) it's really not something solved by a singular software solution, but an overall animation approach involving multiple formats and capture devices.

That's about the best we can do for a quick 'blurb'... There were too many steps in this short project to get into with any sort of completeness here.

Hey neat, now I know why I dislike collages normally, they are too slow. This one isn't!
