Updated 02/12: Image is shaky. I now know this is partly due to the image stabilizer that I did not turn off (see hv20.com/showthread.php?t=6895#postcount53647)

Sweet. Good use of 35mm and low sun. Nice editing too... Loved it :)

Sweet - the use of a tripod would have made it even nicer. ;-)

loved the look of this. how do you get the blurry look around the sharper areas? is that something that happens when you film a certain way or is it added in post? thanks

    Thanks for these nice comments.

Tom, the video is shot through an SLR lens screwed on the camera with a 35mm adapter. This is used to get a shallow depth of field -- the blurry look (see en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Depth-of-field_adapter).

Look for videos with tag/keyword "35mm" for other examples.

Tom, I'm glad you like the videos.

Have a look at the wikipedia page to learn more about 35mm adapters. If you're considering buying one, take the time to understand what they're about and how to make sure you're buying the right parts.

You have to get the adapter and the lens separately. If you don't own SLR lenses already, you can get cheap ones on eBay. People often use 50mm lenses with wide aperture from Nikon or Canon. The adapter's mount must match the lens brand.

Then, depending on your budget, you can purchase your adapter from companies like Letus (http://www.letus35.com), Cinevate (http://www.cinevate.com), RNG35 (http://www.rng35.com)... or build your own adapter.

I built mine from Daniel Schweiner's tutorial (http://jetsetmodels.info/news.htm), buying parts from several vendors. Some people even sell ready-to-use adapters built from this tutorial (http://www.hv20.com/showthread.php?t=2825).

    Good luck!

    Vraiment très sympa.
le seul détail qui est dommage est le manque d'un petit peu de stabilité.

    A bientôt !

    Merci Fofilou.

Je sais maintenant que l'écran interne de l'adaptateur était mal fixé. J'espère une nette amélioration sur les essais prochains.

Cette terre est-il sur l'écran de foyer ou la lentille primordiale ?
  • Nicolas Vallet 3 months ago
    Elle est sur l'écran intermédiaire...

    Bonsoir,
