Done for the Chronos project.

Got my HV20 2weeks ago and have been unsure what to do with it, then stumbled across the forums and the seed was sown.

This is the first thing i have ever done with video.

I tried to capture the dreamlike quality of time when you are in that borderline sleep moment where your not sure if your awake or not.

Do you have some type of lens or adapter, or is the vignetting from your NLE or something?

I like the sped up parts. Very cool.
  • dwyzak 2 years ago
Hi Mat, don't have any lenses, used some presets within Vegas, thanks for the feedback.

hello fellow limey! cool video, bet your legs weren't happy with you tho, although i suppose at least you went down not up! (ps: people wont see your replys back to them in their 'conversations' page unless you hit the reply button on their post rather than the comment box at the bottom of the page..)
  • dwyzak 2 years ago
Ah good tip bout the reply button wob ler, cheers, was that a guess bout being a Limey? Gathered from the accent of the lift/elevator? haha.
  • wob ler 2 years ago
er yeah that was it... OR it says you're from nottingham on your profile! :p

turns out i'm a huge liar, as this 'thread' didn't show up in my conversations at all :( i thought i was being all helpful (someone told me the same thing a couple of weeks ago when i was new!)
  • dwyzak 2 years ago
Where abouts are you from good sir? And are there many Brits on Vimeo?
  • janocjapun 2 years ago
You get a notification by mail when someone replies, i think?
  • wob ler 2 years ago
i didnt get notified... i get notified if someone posts on one of my videos, but not for the reply to my post on his...

I'm from St.Albans, but living in Leicester - i've seen a few brits about (patrons of the marmite channel!) but obviously percentage wise not that many

Im a Vimeo Brit. From Leicester.

Nice idea... I could imagine this being played on a loop. It's also a great way of keeping filmmakers fit and healthy.
  • dwyzak 2 years ago
That's what i thought Javed, bout the loop, my legs were killing this morning too.
    Thanks for the comment.

    Very nice one!
(You should deinterlace your video for even better quality ... maybe this thread helps: vimeo.com/forums/topic:3671)
  • dwyzak 2 years ago
    Thanks jano.
I'm a bit confused with deinterlacing, i shot on Progressive, i thought that meant no interlacing, have i got it all wrong?

Actually when i click on the M2T files in vegas, it does say 'interlaced' in the preview window.

    I'm really quite confused :-(
  • wob ler 2 years ago
aye there's definate interlace lines, if you go full screen you can see the blighters in the first few seconds on any sharp vertical edges...

strange if you shot on HDV25p!
  • dwyzak 2 years ago
Hmnn, maybe i set up the project settings inncorectly, i can see the lines now its been mentioned.

Aha, just checked the camera and it was set to HDV, not HDV25p.

Thanks for the help guys, bit daunting to begin with isnt it.

I should write a checklist and tattoo it to my forehead.

heh i always forget to white balance!

Nice work. And you made it all the way down those stairs without being mugged once, amazing.
  • dwyzak 2 years ago
Ha, had to mask the crack users outta the shot Steve ;-)
    Thanks for the comment.

I like this a lot, I think you got the " dreamlike " quality you were looking for..how it slowed down and sped up a lot and especially how it almost loops. Very good :)
  • dwyzak 2 years ago
Thanks for the feedback Raina :-)

Really nice video. Loved the music, who's it by?
  •
  • dwyzak 2 years ago
Nice one Alex, forgot to credit the tune.
It's by KNO (rapper from the 'Kunnyluingists)
and it's called 'Time (what is it?).
  • Alex Richards 2 years ago
Thanks for that, I already had it! It's the 'CunninLynguists' (be sure to check them out if you haven't heard any of their stuff before).

Again, great video. We once went up the wrong lift (that takes you up into the flats) and were pretty scared as we had no idea there was a block of flats above the Victoria Centre!
  • dwyzak 2 years ago
Woah, freaked me out for a minute there Alex, what a small world this really is.

  • DEDFX 2 years ago
    what filters did you use?
  •
  • dwyzak 2 years ago
    Hi Dedfx.
I used some presents in Vegas 7.
Sony Sharpner, something to do with yellows and the Sony border thingy.

That was quite a poor summary wasn't it.

Nice work. I love the perfect timing of the shot at the ground floor when you pan across the floor numbers right into the elevator door as it opens. It's almost like the camera pushed the doors open. Happy accident.
  • dwyzak 2 years ago
Thanx Doug, totally agree with that, the timing was flawless, like fate or summit.

    Thanks Madame Dino-saurus.

I'm rendering your 'My Room' vid at the moments.

In the words of spoilt Californian teenagers - 'It's, just like, taking, soooooooooo forever!'
  • Yeay! make sure you send me a link or something when it's done so i can add it to the channel!

It makes me laugh that you called me Madame Dino-saurus.

    :-)

    Take care
