much more about camera work, than say this:
    vimeo.com/399234

    what is the music?
  • Alex Itin 8 months ago
Morton Feldman (a smashee of at least two compositions).

I do love the cubism of yours though (how was it made?)...
I think my camera started going screwy after this shoot (it was raining kind of hard)... so maybe it's about camera not work?

rain + DV cameras = not running cameras.

the main thing is sense of place, like that fantastic top of a bulk garbage can(?) with the puddle-

did you have to practice that relatively smooth pan on the plane on a flight path to la guardia(i imagine)?

my smashup was cut together in aftereffects- timelapses from super 8 film, dv, and high res digital...
you dont need that crazy a computer really....

what cam did you shoot on? and what is your method to madness?(or is it some late night alchemical ritual you would prefer not to go into)

That's actually a lucite cube (sort of coffee table from the seventies that my neighbor's wife has sentenced to the roof). I should really get after effects.

The camera was an old Cannon ZR100, or something like that... not a great camera.

This one I did after listening to an early Laurie Anderson piece about boats in N.Y. harbor (that was the original soundtrack)... I was thinking of the planes as boats... that odd Fellini Amacord scene and fog horns and 911.
The Feldman piece seemed to say all that abstractly.
