Taking a page from NBC's Heroes, Superhero explores the concept that one's abilities might need to be activated through some external stimulant. In Heroes this was illustrated in Isaac's heroin addiction.

That being said, Joe is about to learn that his close friend has a secret. But will it end up being more than he can swallow?
