The treadmill is actually made for humans but modified for use by dogs. With very few exceptions, they (the dogs) really like it. A dog like Logan who lives to swim takes to it very well.

One of the most important uses of this underwater treadmill is the rehabilitation of dogs who have had back, hip, and knee surgery. The water supports the animal and takes the weight off the joint so they can begin to regain use. In Logan's case the water is used as a resistance mechanism, kind of like walking in the water on the beach.

They also make these treadmills large enough to hold a horse.

Logan needs her frisbee to hold while she's working. She's doing great! But oh for the summer joy of the real dog pool.
