Nice video and appropriate sound track. Looks like the pan on your tripod is a wee bit sticky.
  • Eugenia Loli-Queru plus 2 years ago
The ugly pans is because Vimeo is always downconverting to 24p, even if your video is 30p. And the kind of downconverting they do creates really non-smooth pans. Try the MP4 file itself, as long as you have a really fast machine, to watch smoothly.

I wonder how can one tell if the video is 24p or not?
  • Eugenia Loli-Queru plus 2 years ago
The less smoothness, the more chance there is for the video to be 24p, especially if it comes from the HV20.

I see now, that explains it... I've been uploading at 25p (thinking that Vimeo uses 25p also). But I guess 24p is NTSC standard. Thanks for that info.
  • Eugenia Loli-Queru plus 2 years ago
No, 24p is not NTSC standard. NTSC is 30p/60i. 24p is film's frame rate.

Eugenia, how did you manage to change the focus from your husband to the pillar? Are you using some DOF adapter? Oh, BTW I like very much the font you used for the title:-)
  • Eugenia Loli-Queru plus 2 years ago
Thanks. No, I just used HV20's manual focus. No extra stuff.

I always like to look at your films. You are a very careful and patient artist. Also, you ALWAYS choose very nice music and that really helps to make a film work. Great !

    Perfect work as always
    Really breathtaking!
What is this font in the beginning, Eugenia?
  • Eugenia Loli-Queru plus 2 years ago
I believe it was the "Bickham Script Pro Regular". It came with my DELL PC.

  • Wow...nice work, especially the shots in the grass. Did you color correct this at all?
  • Eugenia Loli-Queru plus 2 years ago
Thanks. Yes, all my scenes are color graded, on pretty much all of my videos.

I always thought HV20s were n00b cams. (I've seen a lot of people with horrible stupid videos and they had HV20s) Your videos are far from those videos. But you can get some pretty fine footage with these! Great video! This was beautiful good music to. Makes me think twice about the HV20.

    Hello Adam,
If you think the HV20 is bush league, check RedRock, shoulder mount and adapter for the HV20. And do a web search for Bruce Allen (freshDV.com). I think your eyes will be opened even wider than mine were!

  • So nice.
I especially like the shot with the silhouet grass, followed by the blurred duck (?). Amazing!
  • Eugenia Loli-Queru plus 1 year ago
Thanks! Yes, it was a duck.

    Hello Eugenia,
I do like your videos. I need to get my act together.
I am interested in how you "license" the music for your videos, and where you obtain it. Any tips there?
  • Eugenia Loli-Queru plus 1 year ago
Make a search on my blog about "creative commons", I have written about it there.
