There were a lot of realllly good concepts and ideas in here.

Nice job. The shots you chose to tell your story were very convincing.

I almost wished that I saw the end of the relationship, or why she was so sad Thaat's what I was expecting.

Maybe it's better to just leave it open.

Also, I was kinda hoping for more of a reveal as to what the girl was doing/ where she was. I mean, you see the bottom half the whole time and when you amrried the top image together at the end, it seemed just a little disappointing. I dunno. She did a good job as far as her acting. I just wished the camera moved away or something reveal the whole scene.

    Great job though!

well it isn't supposed to be a linear story, she is in a non-descript place thinking about her memories of him and as far as the resolution goes, the images in the almost dark were intended to be her memories 'fading' I appreciate your comments but it wasn't my intention to build a story or to reveal a 'real' place, the idea with this video was to impose on someone else what goes in the mind of someone who has broken up with someone that they really love, the idea is that it is up to you to imagine the reasons, ending and everything else, it is always the same story anyway... what is important in this video is what is important to her and what is important to her is the memories she has of her relationship with him.

    Good video...

    A few suggestions...

    1) I was loss for the first half... it seems it would have been better to edit the exact scene at about 2:33... where the character is in the bed "thinking about"... by putting this at the beginning as well... this would have tied the beginning and the end together more effectively IMHO.

    2) ... this is perhaps petty suggestion... but, softening the break in the bottom half from the top half by feathering the line would seem to be more visually appealing in my minds eye.

Hi Joe, thanks for your suggestions but this video is meant to be this way, the girl in the bed is actually not the girl in the present but she is a memory of herself laying in bed thinking, so it wouldn't make much sense to explain the video with that.. as I explained above the idea behind this video is to impose a certain feeling on the viewer, it's aim is not clarity, I am sure that once in your life you have been left alone with your memories of someone and this is what the video is about, it tries to avoid linearity on purpose as memory doesn't work that way, it doesn't follow a certain pattern.

I like that there's no feathering

ah. That makes sense. It's really just a matter of personal taste and how one interprets the video in the end.

I cuold relate to this video. I've had, as many of us have had, similar relational experiences and heart aches.

The fact that this piece was able to elicit some emotion out of me proves that you did an effective job.

    Good work.

ps, I like the straight divide between the screens at the end. To me, it represented a broken or split person. it created a slight distortion over the persons face which was a great visual metaphor in my opinion.

Really Lovely! In my opinion (not that it matters what i think really) it does exactly what you set out to do. Stunning images cut well and a lovely simple idea. PS nice hard edge wipe!

thank you very much, and your opinion does count, I am glad that you 'get' it.. and it is nice to know that some of the criticisms I have been receiving are just a matter of personal opinion :)

I was going to say, until I saw the end piece, that I didn't like the way the bottom half of her was reacting to her thoughts. I wasn't expecting her in tears- it looked like she was bored, playing with her hair, etc. but still a great video. sad...

That was really well done. A great concept and well executed. Such a sad ending!
