How long does it take to charge from empty? Could it be like going to the gas station, fill up and continue?
Is it more dangerous, now that people don't hear you coming?

It takes two hours to get 80% charge, so it's not something you can do at a gas station. I guess it's more suited to commuters who have specific destinations they can charge at before re-using it.

I love the futuristic sound it makes. In switzerland the Vectrix costs 16000 chf, way to much for me. I'm planning on buying a used scootelec from peugeot.

It currently costs £6000 in the UK, reduced from £6,900. I am test riding one soon with a view to buying. These are too cheap not to buy given the price of UK fuel (£1.15 a litre) which is due to increase by 37% by 2009. Over 4 years the Vectrix will save me around £11,000 on my motorcycle commuting costs. Break even is just over 1-1/2 years. Yes it is a high up-front cost, but do the math.

Biking is dangerous. Electric bikes are silent. You need your exhaust sound to warn others of your presence.
Lets hope this thing doesn't catch on and vanishes like mr sinclairs C5.

Get a pedal cycle take it on the train. And park it on your office.
