Mareen Fischinger's videos (40)
Channels / Albums (4)
Last November, when I visited my friend Zach Klein in his Williamsburg apartment, I filmed this silkscreening session. I hope you like it.
This video is a response to AA's request:
Hor gut zu, Fischinger. You haven't uploaded a clip for 6 months! You're around cameras all day, and I know one of them has a video feature. :)

this brought back a ton of memories for me. i used to work in the silkscreening business a long time ago when lots of things were manual.

    great job, zach!

    Interesting.
But is this better than have it printed on a shirt at the copyshop?
  • Mareen Fischinger 3 months ago
It is always easier to get fastfood than cook a meal yourself, with your own recipe.
  • w.pasman 3 months ago
Cooking yourself tastes better than fast food

Which means, silkscreening is better than going to a copyshop ands see your design get thrown around heartlessly.

    what's the map?
    Deutschland?
  • Mareen Fischinger 3 months ago
    You should study geography. Yes.
  • Alex Itin 3 months ago
Why do I need to study? I got it right:)
  • Mareen Fischinger 3 months ago
Because you were not sure and didn't google it to make sure.
  • Alex Itin 3 months ago
    You assume too much.

I'm scared to silkscreen, but this makes it look a lot more user-friendly than what I've come to assume over the past few years.

I always wondered how they did this - now I know!
Maybe it's not purpose, but the colours are really nice, the shots as well.

Ich habe silkscreening gesehen, als ich fuer eine Boegenhersteller arbeitete. Es passierte vielmals in der Woche. Ich hatte nie gedacht, dass es hausgemacht werden kann... (und ja, es is natuerlich Deutschland...).
    :)) Schoene Arbeit, bravo.

    Nicely done.

Amberlith is polyester film only coated on one side though. The pads are the least expensive way to buy Amberlith, so I think that idea was perfect.

If you have an ironing board, try the square end, although it is a bit tippy.

Alas, as the Ulano Product Manager, I will go down in history as the man who killed Amberlith and UlanoCUT Amba in January 2008.
