8. Canon HG10 wideangle testing
This is a short test for Mark Taylor: vimeo.com/user373050

Showing the HG10 fully zoomed out / with Kenko Wide 0.5x lens / with Lomography Fisheye Super Wide.

The Kenko is fairly cheap and wider than the official Canon WD-H43 (0.7x) but has soft edges (I haven't used the Canon - maybe that one is sharper).

The Lomography Fisheye was purchased here: shop.lomography.com/holga/accessories/

It's a fun lens and very, very wide.

Depending on the lens thread, you might need to buy step-up or step-down rings.

I use a 43mm/37mm step-down ring for the Kenko and a 43mm/55mm step-up ring for the Lomography fisheye. They are cheap, though.

Hope that helps...

Don't know about the kenko but I had a panasonic and it had soft edges. I replaced it with the canon WA lens which does not have them. What I see here of the Kenko is much worse than that panasonic that I had, from my memory the blurryness with this kenko starts about 3 times closer to the center than with the panasonic. And also I see a lot of chromatic abberations in the kenko images The canon only has a slight barrel distortion which the panasonic did not but better barrel than blurry.

The fisheye has less distortions, there seems some chromatic abberation though. Might be an idea to post some *photos* as well, to get higher resolution.
