I shot the eclipse from my attic in NYC. I was amazed to see just how fast the moon actually moves, but we don't realize it.
Good thing too, next one is in 2010.
Shot with my Canon HV20 mounted on my tripod in 24p mode, auto-white balance edited in Roxio Media Creator 10.
The HV20 only has a 10x optical zoom and digital zoom sucks. I tried shooting this in night mode but it looked terrible. I considered shutter priority but then decided against it: if I shot it in shutter priority it would have been at 30 fps.

A tripod really helps in capturing video like this...also prevents your freezing hands from holding the camera (plus you can drink coffee.)
