Some paragliding fun at Point Cartwright on the Sunshine Coast of Australia.
Shot on the 7D with interview shots from the HVX 200.

Love and Aloha, iamKP-
I didn't grade the footage at all (Apart from the interview shots, I brought the shadows up a bit). So there's no editing trick to it as such.
All colours were acheived in camera. A polariser makes a big difference. . .
Bag that HVX200; the other footage is so stellar in comparison.
Wish I was back in Oz! vimeo.com/paraglidingchannel
very nice choice of music too
What was the lenses you used on your 7D ?
See above in the description, all the lenses etc. are detailed on my blog. highdefedition.com
Know someone artist and title of this song?
No idea who did the music, it's a pre-made loop in a program I have.
Cheers
Paul
Hopefully within the next 12 months........wife permitting...
Cheers

Full screen on a 24 inch is amazing, great compression!
Also that beautiful shot of the ribbon shows precisely how far you can play with the depth of field on digital equipment... thanks to the 7D and its optical possibilities. Hourra!

video is really impressive. What sharp colors! Also point of view for shoting is wonderful. Congratulations!
I have a question about it. Did you make post-production for the focus areas. (gaussian blur filter) ex. like on the red flying stripes?
Really good job!
Did you chose to not put a polariser on the HVX to separate the footage? Or would you have preferred to match the look if you could?
I didn't use a polariser on the HVX for one good reason. I left it at home! :)
It would have pulled the water down heaps in the interviews and allowed me to expose for the faces more. That was a bummer.
I would have liked to, but it doesn't matter so much if they look different to me. They were shot on different cameras. Why hide it?
Very Nice!
I would say - "RICH" and "VIBRANT"
...or can we simply say - "CANON" ? :)
Christian, I hate my camcorder now, and it's all because of you, LOL!
I have my Samsung High Definition camcorder and I am pretty happy with sharpness and true 60 fps... not on Vimeo though :( , but my old Canon S3IS can record videos as well, although 640x480 in 30fps only, and 320x240 in 60 fps. Colors are so much richer with Canon than with Samsung, I just wish it could record in HD like Samsung.
I've heard you can get pretty good results with Canon Rebel too (aiming to buy it because it is little cheaper). It also shots in HD. Do you maybe know anything about it and if you know, how good are those Rebel HD footages? Mostly I am interested in getting nice DOF if possible, being able to focus manually etc. Thanks in advance for your help!
As far as the Rebel goes for video, check out the other videos that I have shot on the Rebel/500D/T1i. I only just upgraded to the 7D. It was fiddly to shoot with but I enjoyed it and managed to get some nice images out of it. Definitely a good starting point! :)
Good work my friend and keep it up!
Also, wanted to tell you that after seeing your beautiful video, I was completely blown away and I knew I am going to get this beast sooner or later. Of course, I will never be able to get such a stunning results as yours my friend, but I want you to know that you are inspiration to many and for sure to me.
Can't wait to start shooting with this monster :)
i'm thinking about getting the 7D + Sigma 30mm 1.4 for all around video and stills use. How is the lens for you? Any suggestions for something else?
what tripod / head did you use? how did you find it for panning ?
