The British Council and the European Commission Office in Belfast worked in partnership to organise the fifth Mock Council of the European Union to be held in Northern Ireland.

Students from across Ireland represented government ministers from EU countries and debated topical European issues such as climate change, energy security and the current economic crisis.

The event is part of the British Council's work to bring an international dimension to UK education.
