Nothing short of amazing. Does the SGPro vibrate?
  • Peter Hoare 1 year ago
No it spins. Vibrating adapters are no where near as versatile as spinning ones. shoot35.com

Hey, what a great clip. Lens converters make so much of a difference. Cute kids too!

Very nice footage! I just bought a HV20 and the SGPro to work with my Canon EF-lenses, so I hope to upload something soon. :)

    Two questions:
    1) I find that the screws that came with the SGPro are just a little bit too short to work with the HV20, since you have to have more shims to get it up to the right height. Is this your observation as well?
    2) What is the music called?
  •
  • Gabor Tarnok 2 years ago
    Hi Kiwi,

Yes, I had to order an additional shim kit to get the right height :)

The music comes from Opus Music library and called "WEARY DAY"

Very nice indeed - a bit of a heavy vignetting but it
suits the atmosphere. Unbelievable what you can do with a consumer camcorder combined with the adapter!
    Music fits superbly.

    Thanks! :)

Yes, vignetting is a real problem for HV20 and SGPro combo, but I could make a corrected version, where the vignette is eliminated quite good. You can read details here: waynekinney.iforumer.com/viewtopic.php?p=2658

Beautiful. This and Philip Blooms clip with the Letus Mini are what convinced me to order my HV20 today.

WOW!!! Fantastic work Gabor!! I Love the feel of it!!
I have to ask: what kind of 50mm did you use - what's the speed? 1.4? 1.2? and also: did you use the "SGfollow focus" as the as the SGpro?

check my videos , i have a DOF adapter i build improving many problems of comercials ones ...
i use comercially to shoot spots ads , generally i shoot 35mm , and now DOF adapter and HD .
i don t know your model .... spinning system is better than vibrating one ....

Thanks for all of you! :)
To Kasper: I am using 50mm 1.8 (but I also have a 24mm 2.8 and a 85mm 1.8 which are also very good). I have an SG Follow Focus now (and works great), but this short clip has been made without it.

    purely amazing..
:) so... if I buy the 50mm nikon lens.. what else do I need in order to mount it on the hv20/30 ?
  • Gabor Tarnok 1 year ago
You need a DOF adapter. In my case it is an SGPro DOF adapter. You should attach the DOF to your camera then Nikon lens to the front. Here you can see my setup: waynekinney.iforumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=612

also.. instead of using a nikon 50mm can I use a 35mm ? and not use the dof adapter.. just mount it directly into the camera?
  • Gabor Tarnok 1 year ago
You can not put Nikon lenses directly to your camera.

Perfect! They will love to see it in some years when they are adults.

Gabor, will you consider putting up a vignetting corrected version of this clip online for us to get an idea of how natural the post correction looks? It seems as if putting something like that in the a channel will change up brightness in other parts of the image - or it will not be very consistent, and might look unnatural in some clips, etc.

I know this is a bit of a weird question but, what font did you use in the introduction? I would like to use it in one of my videos.

Very good video by the way, I've got the HG10 and it's just as good :P.

Perfecto mundo. Some scenes are great even though you haven't used any lighting than standard sun light. With a bit of colour cuvves addes you increase the cinematic feeling. And I also want to hear this video with SOUND....without the music, cause 50% is sound.
