Snowfall in Chicago
As a kid I always remembered there being snow all the time but in recent years as an adult(hah), the winters have been weak in the accumulation department and had led me to believe maybe I was just making that up. Either way this current winter season has been like the winters I remember growing up back in the lake effect snow belt of NW Indiana. It seems like we're getting snow at least a couple times a week and I'm loving it. Last night I finally went on a snow walk with camcorder in hand and captured random scenes in and out of alleys in my neighborhood. I would've liked to head downtown but the camera was pretty wet and my fingers were cold so I called it a night.
As of this morning...
"This is the seventh snowiest winter ever, with more than 49 inches in total so far. This is also the 34th day of measurable snow this season, on par with heavy snowfalls back in 1978."

Yes, the abrupt ending is intended

& for the record, although it was a snowy winter in nwi, winters in your old neighborhood aren't the same. there aren't little kids running around everywhere like it used to be. it's kinda sad.
