Out of the box and onto the docks the Indislider has its first outing. This is also my first outing withe the Letus Extreme. (Still learning how to use these) Shot with my FX1, edited with Edius in 1440x1080i, down-converted to 1280x720p .m2t from the timeline, converted to .mov with the Mac version of Streamclip. No color correction. I did crop some noob problem shots. Canon 24mm, 50mm & 85mm FL/FD lenses. Handheld was an experience, but I'm recovering.

Architecturally striking from the freeway and the waterfront, this is a fairly new domestic water pumping station on the Sacramento River just north of downtown. I’ve driven past plenty of times and decided to shoot it today.

This thing has like 6 humongous pumps, thankfully quiet today. I’ll return when there’s people… the circular area in front has uplights and squirty-water-doodles in the summer. The first boat shot was a total fluke, just a pan without the viewfinder... go figure.

Next vid gets people.

    G'day Rusty.

You have some very nice shots there! Please show us more once you've got the hang of your Indislider -- it certainly shows wonderful promise.

And for a pumping station that's pretty neat architecture!

Oh, and great choice of music. 'Amelie' is one of my favorite films and I have the soundtrack CD in the car stacker right now!

Cool shots with the slide! Did u need to add any spacer for the FX to focus to the Letus Extreme? Pretty sharp I think but the top corners look a little dark thou its a nice effect

I went out and shot this 2 hours after receiving my Extreme. I was surprised to get anything!

The Indislider comes in 24 & 36" models. I've seen some skate-track setups on eBay for two tripods, but what a pain that must be! This thing is so heavy, I couldn't imagine it being 10' anyway! I was wondering how it could be stiff enough to hold a larger camera... now I know... 1/4" steel = brute strength!

Just HOW do you get such smooth horizontal hand-held tracking shots?? I just love seeing gentle camera movements like that, so much more effective than static or zoom, but so much more difficult to obtain.

What do you think about the smoothness of the indislider?

Really nice! Not outstanding, but with practice it works well. Portability makes it awesome! Tripod made it possible to slide over railings with ease. It has no wheels and only one moving part.
