So, is the up-do on the hair intentional, or from excessive forehead rubbing?
  • Ben Millett 5 months ago
    A little of both.

Such a simple idea - we spend so much time at our desks, why not? You inspired me - vimeo.com/763712

    aw cool!
ooooooooh plant patho.... :) i wanna browse that. my roses got hit with something wicked last summer :(

very nice tho! what did you film this with?
  • Ben Millett 5 months ago
Thanks. I bet it was black spot (on your roses). I used my Canon S500. It's best setting is 640x480, 15fps. I used iMovie to letterbox it and adjust contrast/brightness. Then I used QT pro to mask off the black bars. Usually contrast/brightness does not help the footage, but it did this time. I keep thinking I need to upgrade my camera, but my iPod is in even more dire straits, so the camera has to wait. tmi?

    hahaha. no, very interesting.

my roses the first year i had them got attacked by aphids but i made some sorta concoction that i sprayed on them and that solved it. last year tho they got all sickly in that the leaves went yellow or black in some spots and the foliage more than anything dropped out so they looked very naked. haha. does that sound like anything you might know of?
  • Ben Millett 5 months ago
I haven't worked with rose diseases, but that does sound like black spot. I'll look in the book on Monday.
  • Ben Millett 4 months ago
That sounds exactly like black spot. The book says:
"Control of Diplocarpon (the fungus is Diplocarpon rosae) is through sanitation (e.g., removing and burning infected leaves, cutting back the canes of diseased rose plants), spraying with benomyl, chlorothalonil, or mancozeb, or applying sulfur-copper dust. Applications should begins as soon as new leaves appear in the spring, or at the first appearance of black spot on the foliage, and then should be repeated at 7- to 10-day intervals or within 24 hours after each rain."

    Good luck!

Mmmmmm, are those RITZ Crackers? I love them, especially with cheese-spreads.

By the way, nice shots you have there... I especially like the way you tightly framed most things... very cool.
  • Ben Millett 4 months ago
They're the Target version of RITZ. Yes, they are quite good.
