A very special edition of a very special film. Korobeiniki won a whole slew of awards in Eugene, OR and was our first film to have an original score. It holds a little piece of my heart and came out almost exactly as I envisioned it. It's rough and absurd, and prompted me to become a filmmaker.

Dir. Damon Stea

Meredith Williams as I-Block
Wyatt Kirby as L-Block

To me it was very ridiculous. Such Russian represent to England? Korobeinik is a seller. For example, pies, or tapes. And these Korobeiniki - from a word "box". It is not absolutely correct. They - a part of game. Funny. By the way, a song which sounds in film:

"Eeh, the full box of fabrics -
there is both silk and brocade.
Buy, favourite! The box strongly presses on my shoulder.
Regret me, favourite! The box strongly presses on my shoulder!
Come the maiden to a rye high.
There up to nights I shall wait.
As soon as I shall notice you
    - the black-eyed girl
then all goods to you I shall show.
The prices I paid for the goods high.
But now about it I do not regret.
Also it is ready to give
all goods to you without money.
The lovely girl, sit down to me more close.
I shall kiss you on scarlet sponges.
    Katya carefully bargains,
all is afraid, that it will deceive.
    The guy kisses the maiden,
asks, that kissed even more strong.
    The guy kisses the maiden,
asks, that kissed it is even more.
    Only night knows,
that the guy kisses the girl.
Only the high rye knows secret,
that the guy kisses the girl".

    You understand my English?

Yes, and thank you for the translation. I knew the story behind the music, but no one ever gave me a real translation of the lyrics

This is very reminiscent of the Communist hunts and racial segregation practices of the 50's. It's nice to know, no matter what you are, you're not alone.

You definitely connected with this piece the way I did when I made it. It started out as a slapstick comedy and I think it definitely ended up something deeper.

All I could think about while watching this was... he got with the long piece? Lucky bastard. I always wanted one of those.

That's the idea. No arms and all nostalgic charm.

Wonderful! I think you are a bit like Michel Gondry in some ways.

That may be the best comment I've ever recieved.
