Daytime shots of Letterman Digital Arts Center and nighttime shots of Chestnut Street in San Francisco. Shot with my new Canon HV20 and Steadicam Merlin. These are still bumpy but I feel like I am making good progress. :-)

Shot at 24fps with CineMode turned on. White balance set to fluorescent. The shots were quickly graded in Color.

I think you good. It just looks like you have a little bit of pendulum action there. I got my Merlin on Friday but had to send it back Monday. I am looking forward to getting to use it soon.

I was a bit bottom heavy for these shots. I rebalanced the whole thing to be almost neutral last weekend and the pendulum effect is virtually gone.

However, I have to learn to flex my knees more, because I still see my footsteps on foreground objects.

Looks great. I'd liked the colour correction and the movement was quite good too. Definitely a lot better than hand held.

What camera settings did you use for the night time shots?

Hi! Loved the shots and I was impressed with the night shots (no NOISE at all) !! Or did you remove it in post?

I did not do noise reduction in post. I shot 24p with CineMode turned on, everything set to "middle" or "0" (except for saturation set at +1) and white balance set at "fluorescent". For most of the shots I manually decreased the exposure to the lowest exposure I felt I could get away with... You can feel that some of the shots are strobier than others, that's because at very low light levels, the camere throttles down to 24Hz shutter instead of 48. But CineMode is a good little trooper and tries really hard to stay at 48 most of the time. :-)
