1. HV20 Video Test

This is the first HD version of the Philocast. It's primarily a test of the Canon HV20 camera, and the Beachtek DXA-2s XLR adapter. I am using a headmounted microphone running through a small mixer into a Behringer Compressor/Gate and finally a quick edit in iMovie as I haven't quite learned Final Cut Express 4 yet. I hope you like the quality and you can only expect it to improve as I learn the gear, I am going on 3 days with the camera and I spent most of the 2nd day sorting out Audio issues. Enjoy!

  • The quality is great in this episode. I have an HV-20 and the Rode VideoMic as well. I'm planning on ordering the Sennheiser G2 Lavalier kit soon. As such, I was wondering what the wireless kit was that you mentioned you got but returned? Nice setup you have going though.

i think the rode mic does a better job than the headset.... but regardless, nice setup. i have a similar setup but i have the dm-50 mic, it doesnt need an additional battery and it seems to be as good as the rode! cool stuff man. final cut express takes a while but is so superior to imove!!! good luck.
