Stoney Middleton - North Derbyshire Light Railway (in HD)
This short film shows our friend Malcolm's beautiful 7mm narrow gauge layout at Harrogate's Festival of British Railway Modelling in early 2007. Shot on a Sony HC1 (1080i) and edited in High Definition in Vegas 7 and then converted to 720p WMV (25 fps as I work in PAL land) for Vimeo uploading.
This is a bonus feature on the new (2008 and totally reshot) Special Interest DVD I've done on Thurston OO, Ely & District Model Railway Club's multi-award winning exhibition layout of that Suffolk station as it was in the late 1950's/early 60's.
See the "teaser" video on Vimeo and a DVD extract on my own website shootingimage.co.uk
Also, see our Club's website app-ltd.com/elymrc for more details - it gets regularly updated with all the exhibitions that Stoney Middleton and Thurston will be attending in the next few years (all over the UK and hopefully beyond...)
Hope you enjoy the film, and yes, I've since purchased a very nice (Libec) fluid head tripod and never shoot without it now.
Andy
Note: if this video plays a little jerky on your PC/Mac just try switching the HD button off and watch it in SD. Let me know any feedback and hope you enjoy it. Thanks!

2 years ago This is great !!! How did you get 9:30 of HD up??? Thanks Duke -
Andy Wilkinson 2 years agoDid it as WMV and I have a very fast ADSL connection (download speed is claimed at 8MB/s but rarely gets to that, upload is about 10X slower.) Glad you liked it!!! Hope it plays smooth without stuttering. -
James Gottsacker 2 years agoBoth the layout & video work are fantastic!! -
Andy Wilkinson 2 years agoThanks James for letting me know. Good news... and I'll pass your fine comments on to Malcolm as well! -
Na Vang 11 months agoVery nice, I wish I could download a sample though.
