Again Miky you prove why you are such a solid editor. With a band like the Racounteurs you can't go wrong. Jack White is a true rock star. And in this black and white music video we can see quite easily why Black and White is the way to go. It translates great and the music speaks for itself. CONGRATS to you..

I love this video! I saw it a few days ago when it first came out but I wanted to ask. Was this shot with 35mm still camera film, because I know Autumn de Wilde uses that film. I heard this video was over 2500 photos, and that would be a crazy amount of 35mm film!

Thanks Robbie. Yes all film. 16 shots a roll. It was more like 2700 pictures and they were all scanned and sent to me in individual rolls. It was a monster project. Quite fun though.

Wow that's a lot of film changes! Was it difficult to sync up the music with the photos?! I'd get so lost.

    Great work once again Miky.

autumn labeled the rolls appropriately. but she was working alone so it was tough to get everything exact. i built image sequences based on the subject then tried to sync. we were never going for a 'hard' sync on lyrics since it's such a fast song. in fact that's what made this idea so interesting for this song- the clash of the still photography with the rapid movement of the music and performance.
    thanks billy.

Does anyone else see an eerily striking resemblance between Jack White (at least in this video (which is lovely, by the way!)) and Zach Condon of Beirut?

    It's freaking me out.
