A montage filmed on the Shropshire Union Canal in Audlem and Wrenbury, Cheshire. The afternoon sky burst the most intense rainbow I've ever filmed.

Hopefully I'll find the time to cut a short. Music: On the Nature of Daylight by Max Richter

Some very nice shots. Sometimes I think, the vignette is too much, but that's a question of taste, isn't it?

Thanks! I agree it's a matter of taste, but on this occasion I think you're right. I've toned it down a little.....!

That's fine. Have a nice day and much luck with more incredible rainbows :o) I have seen my last one a long time ago.

This is excellent. Very well done. I'm just wondering, how did you manage to get the file so small? I've been trying to get a video on here, and it's less than 2 minutes long, but winds up being over 500mb. Any advice?
  • Euan Preston 3 months ago
I exported the file from Avid as an uncompressed Quicktime and then compressed it in Sorenson Squeeze as a 9mbps file which had a file size of 185mb. Vimeo then re-encoded the file once it was uploaded to optimise it for streaming. I've really no idea why a 2 minute file would come out at 500mb. Is it your original file that's 500mb or the version on Vimeo?

    Thanks for your kind comments!

Nice. That was indeed an intense rainbow. I can see those shots working to a bit of 'System of a Down' too! If I don't get an EX1 soon, can I steal your 200?
  • Euan Preston 3 months ago
I did originally cut the montage to SOAD's "**** the System" and it worked much better, but the results of the test screening suggested I should make it more family friendly. The feedback also precipitated the removal of the transvestite burlesque scene, but don't worry, I'll email it over to you as I know it'll be right up your street.
