Footage was shot with a Canon HV20 at 1/250 shutter speed. It was slowed down using Sony Vegas.

I'd like to hear if anyone has an idea how I could avoid having two images of the club show up in every slow motion frame. It appears to be a deinterlacing problem, but I don't know.

So, I have now had a look at this video... Did you slow down the footage to 25% in Vegas first? If so, this is why you have 2 clubs showing up in the frames. Vegas's method for stretching video is based on "Frame Interpolation". In essance, it's just adding crossfading frames between the original frames (this is not motion compensation). The motion compensation algorithm is not able to properly process footage that has been stretched in this fashion. The footage has to be original for this to work. You can apply further stretching in Vegas afterward... here is an example of what I just discribed.... vimeo.com/743983

If you did not do this for this clip ,make sure you click on the video proprties by right clicking on the the video then disable Smart Resample. This will improve your slowmotion alot in Sony Vegas.

I do the 60p trick which works well too.

Yeah, 60p footage looks nice, slow & smooth at 24 fps (40% of original speed). This 40% speed footage is then the best starting point for using the motion compensation script.
