No reason to add the "HV20" tag then.

so to get this look, all you do is buy the Nikon 50mm f1.4 Lens ? i dont quite understand
  • the 50mm lens(manual not auto) allows you to pull focus and also gives you a shallow DOF, is that the look your after? However for you to connect that to your HG10 you need a 35mm Adapter.

On the other hand, I also color corrected and messed around with the footage in final cut. which is sometimes enough to give you that look without any adapter.

Very nice! You can get a similar effect using the radial blur effect in Sony Vegas. You can even track objects to keep them in or out of focus and change the amount of blur in the clip timeline. Of course it's more work than just twisting a lens if you do all the point tracking stuff.
  • thanks. your right but i cant even start to imagine the difficult workflow involved to achieve this. like most things in life you have 2 choices; put in the time and effort or pay for the results. that being said, alot of time and effort did go into grading this clip so its not all about the lens.
    regards

Sounds like Marvin Gaye, a little bit. Nice work. I've been looking at the HG10 myself which I'll attach to an RNG35 and my classic Canon FD lenses. Then post will be done in Final Cut Express which now handles AVCHD. Your work looks very good.
